This won’t be the first time that Esthero and Page find themselves on the same track, as both had previously appeared on “The Streets Where We Live” as part of the Buried Heart Project.

Update: Esthero adds, “i hope ‘love for just one’ night will be the first in a series of many s.o.e vs esthero releases.” I think that definitely allows for some excitement.

Esthero will be serving as a judge at this year’s Honey Jam auditions, taking place June 14 at the Mod Club (2 p.m.) in Toronto.

“Do you have what it takes? We’re searching the country for female artists, representing hip hop, jazz, soca, r&b, gospel, rock, dancehall, blues, alternative, opera, country – all styles of music.”

Esthero will be performing at the Calgary Folk Music Festival, July 24th at Prince’s Island Park. Other artists appearing include Arrested Development, Gomez and the Decemberists.

Is that Miss Esthero making a guest appearance on Fonzworth Bentley’s MTV reality show “From G’s to Gents“? Why yes, it is.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for Mr. Bentley’s debut album, featuring Esthero on “Laid Back” to drop. The song was recorded back in 2006.

Esthero will be appearing June 27th. More details as they come.

As you’ll recall, Esthero and Brandy teamed up on “Believer,” (the demo of which was released through the Esthero MySpace page in December). The two have also teamed up on Brandy’s new album, with Esthero taking a writing credit for the title track.

The album’s first single “Right Here (Departed)” was recently released to radio.

The film is currently making the rounds on the film festival circuit and is playing tonight at the Anthology Film Archives.

There’s no need for tickets, as this one’s free to the public (so get there early – the show starts at 8 pm) …not to mention outdoors (so maybe bring an umbrella too, just in case).

1. In the middle of We R In Need of A Musical Revolution (after the “Ashanti in the video” lyric): “Fuck, I’m so dated. I so fucking dated myself… and now I just sound bitter. Fuck it, I am bitter!”

2. Responding to a request from a fan: “We played Heaven Sent already! Where the fuck were you? You’re drunk! [laughs] You should totally hang out with me after…”

3. Breaking out into a rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” despite forgetting the words.

Esthero will be performing alongside Black Cowboy and Yirayah as part of Musical Mutiny 2008, “an Atlanta festival aimed at allying fans and musicians under a single, unified ideology; namely the belief that there exist talented artists who care more about the integrity of their music than about adhering to the outdated policies and procedures of large record labels.”

This might be an excellent chance to see Esthero perform new material – she’s recently been recording in Vancouver with producer Chin Injeti (Canadians might remember him best as part of Bass is Base, the band responsible for “Funkmobile”).
